The starting point for the work of Melanie Matthieu and Rein De Wilde, presented at K+K gallery, was the ambition to look deeper into the concept « errare », wich means to wander, to drift but also to be mistaken. During their escapade, they both face opposite directions, meeting somewhere along the way. Similar to the “glacial erratic”, a stone left behind by a glacier in a landscape that isn’t familiar to it, they present the outcome of their excursion. ( or maybe just the traces the landscape left behind on the body of work)
